St. Mary’s of Dorrance is a welcoming church. The pastor of St. Mary’s is Reverend Joseph Evanko, and Reverend Gerald Shantillo, Assistant Pastor. The weekend Mass schedule is Saturday at 5:30 p. m. and Sunday at 9 a. m.
Please return your Religious Education registration forms in your family envelope April 27. The last religious education class is May 4, unless you have class work to make up, or you are a second grade student. Those classes end on May 11. First Holy Communion students have their final practice on Saturday May 17. First Holy Communion is on Sunday, May 18 during 9:00 a. m. Mass.
St. Theresa’s Guild will meet Tuesday, May 6 at 7 p. m. in the dining room. Please note the date change. The ladies will be making final preparations for the Communion Breakfast. Help is needed. To join the Guild or for more information, call Julia at 570-379-3034.

The Knights of Columbus will meet Wednesday, May 7 at 7:30 p. m. in the social hall. For information on becoming a member call Tony at 570-868-8401, or John at 570-379-3721.
A Bazaar Meeting will be held Monday, April 28 at 7 p. m. in the dining room. All stand chairs are asked to attend. Please be prepared to give a short report for your stand, including your list of volunteers who will be working the stand and shifts that need to be filled.
Raffle ticket letters will be in church next weekend. Envelopes are in the hall.
St. Mary’s Community Outreach Team will meet Wednesday, May 14 at 7 p. m. in the meeting room. The group will be raffling off two beautiful handmade afghans to raise money for their projects. The afghans will be on display the weekend of April 26/27. Chances are $1 a piece and there will be two separate raffles. The winners will be drawn on Mother’s Day.
Rosaries will be made at the Wednesday meetings beginning at 6 p. m. The Crochet Group will continue to meet on Sundays at 6 p. m. Icon Class-Experience the joy of writing (painting) a Byzantine style icon with Iconographer Kim Fritzges. Kim will demonstrate each step of the process. All supplies and instruction are included in the $200 cost of the workshop. Artistic talent or experience is not required.
The icon that will be done in class is Christ the Lover of All which is on display at St. Jude’s in Mountain Top. Classes are Wednesday evenings from 6 to 9 in the school cafeteria. April 23 to June 18, 2014. Please note there is no class Wednesday, May 14. The Feast of Divine Mercy will be celebrated at St. Jude Church on April 27, 2014 at 3 p. m.

Our students will be traveling to West Virginia to volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. Students will leave on Sunday, July 20 and return on Saturday, July 26. Cost of the trip is $400.
