ST. JUDE’S AND MISERICORDIA COLLABORATE ON PI DAY-PreKindergarten through eighth grade students at St. Jude School joined with students from Misericordia University to celebrate Pi Day (March 14). Students attended an introduction to Pi presentation and rotated through various activities which were designed, organized, and presented by Elementary Education majors from MU as a Service Learning project for their Methods II course. Members of the MU Mathematics and Computer Science Club assisted with the activities which included pi plates, pi chains, pi bracelets, pi flip-books, singing pi-themed songs, writing and listening to pi-themed stories, and measuring circular objects to discover and approximate the value of pi. The St. Jude PTG provided the students with a “Pi Day Pack” of circular souvenirs to take home.
