Thomas Schmidt of Mountain Top, was one of seven members of Wilkes University’s chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society, who traveled to Washington, D. C.
There the students heard the Supreme Court case Clark versus Rameker, which was an argument concerning the bankruptcy code. The group also met with Sen. Robert Casey and Rep. Matthew Cartwright as well as Wilkes alumni working at various research think tanks.
Thomas Baldino, interim dean of Wilkes’ College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Kyle Kreider, associate professor and chair of political science, coordinated the trip.
Schmidt is a sophomore history major.
