St. Mary’s Church Participating In Loaves And Fishes Program

St. Mary’s of Dorrance is a welcoming church. The pastor of St. Mary’s is Reverend Joseph Evanko, and Reverend Gerald Shantillo, Assistant Pastor. The weekend Mass schedule is Saturday at 5:30 p. m. and Sunday at 9 a. m.

Altar & Rosary Communion Sunday is March 16 at 9 am. The next meeting is Monday, March 17 at 7 pm in the dining room. All ladies of the parish are invited. Call Michele at 570-868-0168 with any questions.

The ladies are selling beautiful Palm Crosses very reasonably priced at $10. Please use the form to pre-order your cross. Pick up and live sale begins the weekend of March 15/16.

The Knights of Columbus will meet on Wednesday, April 2 at 8 pm in the social hall. For information on becoming a member call Tony at 570-868-8401, or John at 570-379-3721.

St. Mary’s parish is participating in the Loaves and Fishes Program to benefit the Saint Vince de Paul Soup Kitchen. This month’s item is coffee. Baskets are in Church.

The next meeting of the Social Justice program is Wednesday, March 12 at 7pm in the meeting room. This group will meet permanently on the second Wednesday of the month. This team now incorporates the Crochet Group and the Rosary Makers.

Weis Markets gift cards are available in denominations of $25, $50, & $100. Use same as cash. Our parish receives 5% of all sales. Call the office to order your cards and pick them up after Mass.

Baskets of Hope-Members of Girl Scout Troop 33320 are currently working on their Bronze Award, the highest honor in Girl Scouting. With the help of the community, they will be collecting household items to be placed in gift baskets. The baskets will then be gifted to the women of Ruth’s Place, an emergency housing shelter for homeless women in Luzerne County, upon successful attainment of their own housing. Items needed include brooms, laundry baskets, cleaning supplies, clothes hangers, etc. The collection will continue through April 2014.

Need prayers? A group of parishioners who have formed a prayer chain, who have been actively praying for two years. The group will pray religiously for you and your intentions.
