St. Martin’s Church Planning Special Services For Lent

St. Martin in the Fields will be celebrating a special Holy Eucharist on February 16 at 10 am. Rev. Mary E Kismer, pastor of Christ Episcopal Church in Berwick, will be taking Father Daniel Fitzsimmons place for this service. Father Fitzsimmons is on vacation.

Ash Wednesday and Lent are just two weeks away. St. Martin In The Fields will have several special services for this Lent.

St. Martin’s will kick start it with a Pancake and Sausage Supper on Fat Tuesday, March 4rd from 4 to 6:30pm. Come and join us for some delicious fluffy pancakes, pork sausage, and applesauce. The cost is $6.00 for adults, $3.00 for children 6-12, and free to children under 6.

Ash Wednesday, March 5th, a Holy Eucharist service will be conducted including the anointing with ashes.

Every Friday there will be a Stations of the Cross service. This is a very moving service.

The vestry will meet on February 16 immediately following the social hour.

The Book Nook just received a donation of close to 1000 books. Unfortunately the regular Saturday hours will be postponed until shelves are up and the weather is a bit more accommodating. We plan on expanding our hours to a weekday afternoon. These dark and snowy days lend themselves to reading in the easy chair before the fire so we hope to reopen soon with a much-expanded selection to get you through the rest of these winter days.
