Mountaintop Man Threatens To Shoot Rice Twp. Officer

Rice Township police arrested a Mountaintop resident last week after the man allegedly threatened to shoot a police officer.

Allen Dula, 52, of 5063 Nuangola Road, was charged with terrorist threats, disorderly conduct, fleeing from police and restriction on alcoholic beverages-driving with an open container.

According to the Police Criminal Complaint, the charges stemmed from an incident that took place on January 19 at the Unimart Quik Mart. Sgt. Harry Ehret received a complaint from workers at the Unimart that a male in the store was acting disorderly and causing a disturbance, that he was drinking a beer and smoking a cigarette. The officer identified the man as Allen Dula and noticed that the man got into his vehicle, a black Chevrolet. The officer stated he got behind the vehicle and attempted to stop it with emergency lights on and siren activated. The driver refused to stop and accelerated his attempt to elude the officer. He then pulled his vehicle into a driveway to turn it around in a further attempt to elude the officer. The driver passed the officer in the opposite direction at a high rate of speed. The officer then attempted to stop the vehicle and again the vehicle refused to stop.

As the officer followed the vehicle with emergency signals activated, the vehicle pulled into the driveway of 5063 Nuangola Road. The driver, Allen Dula, got out of the vehicle and became confrontational with the officer, waving his arms in the air and screaming, “what the hell are you
