Two Mountaintop men were arrested last week in connection with a suspected mobile methamphetamine lab parked near the Dorrance Township municipal building and a playground.
According to Wright Township Police Chief Royce Engler, Dorrance Township Secretary, Pat Davis, and neighbors in the area noticed cars had been parking in the lot of the Dorrance Township Municipal Building since before Thanksgiving. Engler is also a supervisor in Dorrance Township. “Neighbors got the license plate numbers down and starting watching. Last Tuesday (January 14), the secretary called us. I went out along with Officer Dave Winsock to confirm it. I then called the State Police at Hazleton since they cover Dorrance Township,” explains Engler.
Richard Seiwell, 18, Dorrance Township, and Joseph Estok, 22, Wright Township, the occupants of the vehicles, were taken into custody and interviewed by Hazleton State Police on January 14.
According to the criminal complaint, Tpr. Christopher Zukowsky, with Tpr. Anthony Petroski, were dispatched to the report of two suspicious vehicles parked in the lot at the Dorrance Township Municipal Building. The troopers observed two vehicles: a white Mitsubishi Lancer, and a black Toyota Matrix. The occupants were inside the Mitsubishi.
