St. Jude’s Knights of Columbus Conducting Free Throw Contest

The Mountaintop Knights of Columbus #6440 will conduct their Annual Basketball Free Throw Contest on Sunday, January 19 in the St. Jude School gym starting at 2 p. m. The contest is open to all boys and girls ages 10 thru 14. All contestants will be recognized for participation. Winners can progress through regional and state competitions. Baby bottles were distributed in support of Pro-Life. This annual campaign is to encourage people to save loose change and return their donation to support the local Pro-Life Center. Bottles are due back the weekend to January 18-19.

Holy Hour and Confessions are being held at St. Jude Church from 7:30 p. m. until 8:30 p. m. every Monday. Parishioners are invited to consider spending time with the Lord at Eucharistic Adoration.

The parish is in dire need of two Eucharistic Ministers to help take communion to Smith Nursing Home on Sunday morning once a month. If you are able to help, please contact Deacon Gene at the Parish Center.

A Teen Mass will be celebrated on Sunday, January 19 at 6 p. m. in the church. Food and fun will follow in the school cafeteria and gym.

The Pennsylvanians for Human Life “Annual Respect Life Prayer Breakfast” will be held Saturday, January 25 at 9 a. m. at St. Mary’s Center, 320 Mifflin Avenue in Scranton.
