Ann Kijek was appointed to a 4-year term on the Planning Commission. The Planning Commission will meet on the 4th Wednesday of every month at 7 p. m. in the Rice Municipal Building.

Archie Weyenmeyer was appointed to a 3-year term on the Zoning Hearing Board. Tom Leonard was appointed to a 5-year term on the UCC Appeal Board.

Vacancy Board representative is Al Bierzynski.

Emergency Management Coordinator is Police Sgt. Harry Ehret.

Berkheimer was appointed to be the Earned Income Tax Collector, Local Service Tax Collector and Tax Hearing Officer.

Wages for the Public Works

Department were announced: Foreman $17.35 p/h $36.078.02 annual; Road Worker I $15.99 per hour $33,250.05 annual; Road Worker II $12.58 p/h $26,158.70 annual. Summer or temporary workers will be paid $10 per hour. Recycling Attendant salary $10.50 p/h.

Police Salaries are per contract signed in 2012: Chief -$51,700 annual, Sergeant -$46,490, Patrolmen $41,870 to $43,120 annual.

Full time employees, Public Works, Police and the Secretary-Treasurer will also receive benefits, holidays, leave and vacation time per annual standards.

Citizens Bank will be the depository for 2014 with any two supervisors signing checks and the treasurer, who is also authorized to make interim payments and to transfer money between funds.

The Board of Supervisors officially recognizes the Wright Township Volunteer Fire Department as the Primary Fire Protection Service for Rice Township and assures that volunteers are covered by municipal policy as it applies.

The reorganization meeting of the Board of Auditors was held Tuesday January 7, 2014 at 7 p. m. The township books were closed on January 1, 2014 and the CPA firm of Bonita and Rainey began their audit of the 2013 year on January 2, 2014. Bonita & Rainey’s on premise audit work has been completed. The firm was issued a check on December 18, 2013 for $2500, before the audit was initiated or completed. Audit reports will be issued in the early part of 2014.
