Geisinger Blood Center Asks Residents To ‘Be The Giving Type’ In 2014

Geisinger Blood Center (GBC), a provider of blood services, is in need of blood donors to help replenish the local blood supply over the holidays.

Blood collected at all GBC drives is distributed locally in the Geisinger Health System service area for Geisinger Health System patients. GBC donors know they are helping families, friends and neighbors in their community.

A decline in blood donations is typical during the winter months as people become busy with holiday activities and travel. Patient needs, however, remain steady, making it important for people to visit a GBC donor site or mobile drive to give blood. to encourage others they know to donate.
