ST. JUDE STUDENTS CREATE PUMPKIN BIOGRAPHIES

ST. JUDE STUDENTS CREATE PUMPKIN BIOGRAPHIES-Third grade students at St. Jude School were challenged to create a pumpkin biography. Using language arts and social studies skills, the students were directed to research a famous person, write a biography, and decorate a pumpkin to resemble that person. A wide variety of pumpkin faces was the result of their efforts. Their display featured presidents including George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, and Thomas Jefferson; sports figures including baseball’s Babe Ruth, gymnasts Nastia Liukin and Gabby Douglas, snowboarder and skateboarder Shaun White, and pro dirt bike rider Ricky Carmichael; and entertainers Taylor Swift, Michael Jackson, and Morgan Freeman. Other biographies included Mark Twain, Ludwig Van Beethoven, Neil Armstrong, and Albert Einstein. Front from left: Emily Adamczyk, Michael Tomczyk, Lauren Urosevich, and Gemma Alberti.
