St. Mary’s of Dorrance is a welcoming church. The pastor of St. Mary’s is Reverend Joseph Evanko, and Reverend Gerald Shantillo, Assistant Pastor. The weekend Mass schedule is Saturday at 5:30 p. m. and Sunday at 9 a. m.
New Altar Server Classes will begin soon. Please call the parish office to sign up. A one hour class is required.
The first meeting of our newly established Social Justice Program is Wednesday, December 4 at 7 pm in the meeting room. Social Service involves performing one or more of the corporal works of mercy; giving alms to the poor, feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, visiting the shut-ins etc. The team is recruiting people with ideas, suggestions, and a Christian vision to help those in need. All are invited!

Altar & Rosary Society Communion Sunday is December 15 at 9 am. The next general meeting is Monday, January 20 at 7 pm in the dining room. All ladies of the parish are invited to join the Altar & Rosary Society. Call Michele at 570.868.0169 with any questions.
The Altar & Rosary Society is collecting cookies to deliver to our shut-ins. Please bring one dozen cookies to the social hall on Saturday, December 7 from 9-11 am.
The Youth Group will meet Sunday, December 8 from 6-8pm in the dining room. YG is for all students in seventh grade and older.
The youth group is collecting clean, new or softly used coats and blankets for Saint Vincent de Paul’s. All sizes needed -children and adults. Boxes will be in the social hall lobby.

Anyone interested in serving as a liturgical minister (altar server, lector, or extraordinary minister) at one of our Christmas and/or New Year’s Masses is asked to sign up in the sacristy or contact the Parish Office.
The Children’s Christmas Party, for all pre-registered children is next Sunday, December 8 at 1 pm. After lunch Santa will stop by and visit all children. There will be an opportunity for photos at the end of the party.
We will be decorating the Church on Sunday, December 22 at 11 am. All are invited to come and help, especially students in need of service hours. Jobs for all ages and abilities. The more hands the lighter the load!
The names of local children are on the Angel Tree near the Baptismal Font. Each child has two tags. One has a clothing wish, the other a toy wish. Please sign the sheet identifying the child you will be sponsoring. To nominate children for this program please call the office with necessary information ASAP. All names are confidential. Wrapped gifts can be placed under the tree. Gifts are needed by December 15.
In addition to the traditional gifts we have been asked to collect toiletries for families, specifically teens & young adults. Soap, toothpaste, dental floss, shampoo & conditioner, shaving cream, deodorant, body lotion, and any other personal hygiene items. Baskets are under the tree.
For everyone’s safety, if the Crestwood School District cancels classes, or has a delay due to inclement weather, daily Mass is cancelled. This information is on all local television stations usually prior to 6:30 am.
The Altar & Rosary Society is taking orders for Christmas rolls. Pre-paid orders are due by December 8. Pick-up is Saturday, December 21, after 12 noon, in the rectory meeting room. For more information call Susan Miller 868.6983. Please make checks payable to Saint Mary’s.
The Altar & Rosary Society uses the proceeds from their fund-raisers to purchase hosts, wine, candles, and other items for our Masses.
