Mountaintop U-14 Girls Win County Cup
COUNTY CUP CHAMPIONS-The Mountaintop U-14 girls soccer team won their second straight County cup defeating the Nanticoke U-14 girls 4-3 in overtime. The Mountaintop U-14 girls recently won their second straight County cup defeating the Nanticoke U-14 girls 4-3 in overtime.

The Mountaintop defense played outstanding containing Nanticoke and allowing minimal penetration in their attacking third. The Mountaintop goalkeeper, Michelle Heller dominated the box and was credited with many spectacular saves.

The offense led by Samantha Brumagin and Taylor Tomalinas played passionately demonstrating good skills and strategy. Overall the girls established a good use of teamwork where everyone contributed to the win.

Brumagin was credited with three goals in regulation the last one being the equalizer that send the match into overtime. Tomalinas scored the winning point three minutes into overtime for the win.

The Mountaintop girls have played a total of 125 games together with an all time record of 90-26-9. The girls scored and average of 6.4 points per game and allowed only 2 all time.

A season end party celebrating a successful year will be held at King’s Restaurant in Mountaintop.
