Kirby Library Announces Upcoming Programs

The Kirby Library announces the following upcoming programs:

Who do You think You Are? Is there a Prince or a Pauper Lurking in Your Family Tree?

Joe Briar, president of the Genealogical Research Society of Northeastern Pennsylvania (GRSNP), will give a presentation at the Kirby Library on November 20th at 6:30pm. The hour-long presentation, titled Who Do You Think You Are? Is There A Prince or a Pauper Lurking In Your Family Tree? will show beginners how to start their own genealogical research journey. Joe will provide a list of resources and offer  helpful hints and guidelines to get you started. The GRSNP is located at 1100 Main Street, Peckville, PA and you can find out more about them at

American Red Cross’s Holiday Mail for Heroes

Help the Marian Sutherland Kirby Library support our military by sending the American Red Cross holiday cards to distribute to veterans, military families, and active-duty service members. We will be taking holiday card donations (glitter-free, please) throughout November. You can donate blank cards or fill out a card and send it to us and we’ll send it to the Red Cross.

We have blank cards at the library if anyone would like to stop by and fill out a card. We will mail cards on November 30 so please be sure to have all donated cards in before this date.
