Wilkes University Honors Coach Christopher Leicht

Wilkes University honored Christopher Leicht of Mountain Top, with a Colonel Blazer during the annual Blue and Gold Brunch held on Oct. 6 during the University’s Homecoming Weekend. The blazer honors faculty, administrators, alumni and distinguished community members who have made significant contributions to Wilkes and have advanced the University’s mission and vision.

Leicht is in his twelfth year coaching

the Wilkes men’s and women’s tennis teams. His combined head coaching career record stands at 290 wins and 78 losses. Under his leadership, the women’s team has won seven straight Freedom Conference crowns while the men’s team has won six consecutive crowns, each title giving the teams an automatic berth in the NCAA tournament. Leicht has coached 35 all-conference selections, including four Rookies of the Year and one Player of the Year. He has also coached 14 singles champions at the Middle Atlantic Conference individual tournament and nine doubles pairings champions. He has been awarded six conference Coach of the Year awards. Leicht also serves as director of the Recreation and Athletic Center at Wilkes.
