Crestwood Contract Remains In Question

 

In  its  post-election  Novembermeeting,  the  Crestwood  School  Boardannounced  that  it  will  reorganize  inDecember.  Election  results  show  thatthe  board  will  welcome  two  returningmembers  and  two  new  members  willjoin

Chairman  Eric  Aigeldinger, having  won  a  new  term  with  runningmate  Norb  Dotzel,  congratulatedsuccessful  candidate  MaureenMcGovern  who  was  in  attendance. Rounding  out  the  new  board  will  beRandy  Swank.

Superintendent  DavidMcLaughlin-Smith  added  his  thanksto  absent  directors  Marty  Behmand  Dave  Ralston  for  “sharing  theirlives”  with  the  larger  Crestwoodfamily  during  their  terms  of  service.

Agenda  items  included  the  reportfrom  Gene  Mancini  on  ongoingnegotiations  on  a  Support  Staffcontract.  He  advised,  “We  hadnegotiated  up  through  May  16th, when  I  came  to  the  meeting  that  nightI

We  didn’t  vote  on  it  that  night.  Wecalled  a  special  meeting  on  the  30thand  we  tabled  it  at  that  time  becausethere  were  some  questions.

“There  was  a  subsequent  meetinghere  with  Dan  O’Rourke  with  thestate  Bureau  of  Mediation.  That  tookus  into  October.”

Mancini  enumerated  additional  sit-downs  in  the  attempt  to  resolve  thefour-year  contract,  which  sports  theunrealistically  optimistic  term  of  July1,  2013  to  June  30,  2017.

 Replying  to  the  chairman’srequest  for  the  status,  Mancini  said, “As  of  right  now  we  do  not  havean  agreement,  Mr.  Aigeldinger.  Soin  the  interest  of  keeping  the  publicinformed  as  to  where  we  are,  a  copyof  the  last  offer  will  be  in  each  of  theprincipal’s  offices  in  the  morning  andon  the  website  in  the  morning.”
