Halloween Events Noted At Local Libraries

The Kirby Library, 35 Kirby Ave, Mountaintop, will host a Halloween Story Time. Join Ms. Michelle on Fri., Oct. 25 at 1:30pm hear all about Halloween. The program is for ages 2 –5. Come for a “spook-tacular” time! For more information, call (570)474-9313, or visit the Library.

The White Haven Area Community Library has planned several events for children, students, and adults to celebrate Halloween. There will be a Halloween Party for school-age children at St. Paul’s Parish House on Berwick Street on Saturday, October 26, from 6:00-7:30. Children from kindergarten and up are invited to come in costume for treats, games, and crafts. A party for preschool children will be held during Tots’ Story Time on October 31 at 9:30. On October 29, Carissa Longo, naturalist, will present ”Batty about Bats,” a program suitable for all ages at 6:30 in the Engine House. She will dispel some myths and fears that have developed about bats over time and help us learn to appreciate the special qualities and abilities of these furry little creatures. This fun session is free and open to the public.

On Oct. 30, The White Haven Paranormal Society invites participation as it conducts an “Investigation” of the Engine House at 7pm to search for evidence of people and events associated with this historical building through its many years before becoming the library. The program is for adults and students over the age of 14. There will be a $5 entrance fee that the Society will contribute to the library.

On Halloween, Oct. 31, the library will welcome trick or treaters from 6 -8pm.
