The Crestwood boys and girls cross country teams competed in a cluster meet at Lake Lehman last week with the boys going 1-2 and the girls 2-1. The boys beat Meyers 15-50 while losing to Lake Lehman 25-30 and Tunkhannock 16-47. The girls beat Lake Lehman and Meyers by identical 15-50 scores, while falling to Tunkhannock, 21-39.
Leading the boys was Nick McGuire who was 11th overall in 17:24 for the 3.1-mile course. Raj Patel was second for the Comets and 18th overall in 18:30, while Brian Knorr was third for Crestwood in 18:51. Sean Gavin was fourth for Crestwood in 19:40 with Steve Ross fifth for the team in 19:56. The boys finished the regular season with a record of 11-6.
For the girls Allie Kachel led the way with a sixth place finish in 20:16 for the 3.1 course with Kailee Traficante 8th overall in 20:47. Megan Knorr was third for the Comets and 17th overall in 22:56. Ashley Paranich was fourth for Crestwood in 24:07 with April Panas fifth in 24:07. The girls finished the regular season with a record of 13-4.
The teams compete in the PIAA District 2 Championships on Oct. 23rd at Elk Lake High School.
