On September 22, Christopher Kamowski, Mountaintop, reported to the Wright Township Police that his 1998 Dodge Durango, silver in color with Pa registration HYI-3206 was stolen while parked in his driveway at his residence some time overnight.
During that time the vehicle was stolen, several other neighbors’ vehicles were entered and looked through.
Wright Township Police remind residents not to keep their valuables in their vehicles and their doors locked.

Wright Township Police arrested an illegal immigrant on September 10.
The arrest stemmed from a traffic stop during a roving patrol on Saturday, August 31 when Jovani Paniagua Gaytan of Hazleton was stopped for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop, the driver presented a Pennsylvania Identification Card identifying himself as Angel David Rosa of West Hazleton. A records check through the Luzerne County 911 Center showed that Angel David Rosa was currently incarcerated in a prison in Missouri. Officers then took the driver into custody.
Live scan fingerprinting revealed that the driver was not Angel David Rosa. The driver then provided his real identity to officers and stated he came to the United States approximately five years ago from Mexico.
Wright Township Police were then notified by ICE Agents of Homeland Security that Jovani Paniagua Gaytan was illegal in the United States on an expired special work visa that and that they had a warrant for him.
On September 10, Wright Township police and ICE Agents served the arrest warrant on Jovani Paniagua Gaytan while working at Mission Foods in Wright Township. ICE Agents put a $5000 bond on Jovani Paniagua Gaytam. He is currently incarcerated and awaiting a preliminary hearing scheduled for October 16th.
A Mountaintop man was charged with DUI by Hazleton State Police for an incident that took place last month in Dorrance Township involving a one-vehicle crash.
According to the Police Criminal Complaint, on September 15, Trooper Robert F. Gavin was dispatched to the area of South Mountain Blvd., south of Bella Vista Drive in Dorrance Township for a one-car crash. When he arrived at the scene, Officer Gavin met with Butler Township Police Sgt. Brian Sabatini and Officer Robert Brighthaupt who provided him with the defendant’s information as well as his four occupants, his children.
The defendant identified himself as John Julian Zeneski Jr., Summit View Drive, Mountaintop. The trooper detected an odor of alcoholic beverages on his breath. The trooper observed the defendant’s eyes to be bloodshot and glassy and he walked with a staggered gait. The defendant stated he had worked a night shift and did not sleep after getting home. He related he drank a few beers after getting out of work and during the day while he was fishing with his sons. He continued to state he was on his way home from Lake Frances and began falling asleep just prior to crashing and rolling his minivan onto its roof. He still possessed an Arizona driver’s license and registration plate. The officer observed cans of Yuenglig Lager and Mike’s Hard Punch which were dripping their contents inside the defendant’s overturned vehicle.
The defendant was given and failed a field sobriety test. The defendant was placed under arrest for DUI and transported to PSP Troop N, Hazleton. The defendant’s BAC was determined to be 0.11%. He was charged with DUI, recklessly endangering another person, fail to notify change in address, disregard traffic lane, careless driving, reckless driving and restrictions on alcoholic beverages.
He was arraigned before Magistriate Ron Swank on September 30 and is awaiting a preliminary hearing.
