Wed., Oct. 16-Guided Hike: D&L Black Diamond Trail; 9:00am
Starting at the White Haven (North) Trailhead in Lehigh Gorge State Park, the rail-trail will take us on a flat 4.75-mile out-and-back hike. We’ll hike up to the new bridge on the Black Diamond section of the D&L Trail and turn back. Please wear comfortable hiking shoes and bring plenty of water. Meet at the DCNR parking lot in Lehigh Gorge State Park at the intersection of Main & Susquehanna streets in White Haven, near G&A Hardware. Free.
Thurs., Oct. 24-Guided Hike: Creekside Trail; 9:00am
Creekside Trail follows scenic Nescopeck Creek, meandering through hemlock forests and deciduous woodlands. This 3-mile easy hike will conclude with a pot-luck reception at the Nescopeck State Park Office. Please wear comfortable hiking shoes and bring plenty of water. Meet at the Park Office. Free.
Fri., Oct. 25-Midnight Madness!; 7:00pm
When the sun goes down, the party begins! Come to the park and discover the many adaptations that enable these critters to be active and survive at night. Bats, opossums and fireflies come to life through stories and activities that are sure to please kids of all ages. Registration required by calling 570-403-2006. Free.
