Another summer is over and the new school year is well underway. Now we come back to the routines of fall. It is also a good time to come back to Worship. If you have not been a regular worshipper because of summertime activities or for whatever reason, we invite you to come Worship the Lord with us. The Worship experience is a time to reflect on our relationship with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. How do we see ourselves as members of the body of Christ? Are we glad to have a special time set aside in our hectic lives so that we can take the time to be with God? Or is Worship just another item on our busy agendas and instead of thinking about quality
time with God, we are thinking about all the other things which take up our time? There is an old hymn which urges us to “take time to be holy” and to “speak oft with our God”. God calls us to come together in Jesus’ name. In the words of another hymn may we answer Him, “Just as I am, I come.” Everyone is welcome to come and worship with us.
On Sunday mornings, the church starts with Sunday School at 9:00 am for group time and then divide up for lessons, games and crafts. We then meet at 10:30 am for Worship Service. On September 22, our greeters will be Dave and Rosemary Myers and our liturgist will be Sharon Moyer.
Kid’s Choir practices every Wednesday at 6:30 pm. The choir has a lot of fun and really livens up the place with our upbeat music. Anyone 5 to 12 years old is welcome to come to help us raise the roof. The Chancel Choir is for anyone older than 12. This group takes a more traditional route to praise, but we’re still rockin’ the house. The choir performs anything from gospel to traditional to new age (remember Victory Chant?! Oh, yeah!). So bring your singing voice and desire to praise God and join our choirs. There’s always room for one more voice (or two or three).
