Christ UMC Adult Sunday School Features New Leadership, Curriculum

Rev. JP Bohanan, pastor, Christ United Methodist Church, 175 South Main Road, Mountaintop, welcomes everyone to join us for Worship on the Lord’s Day: 8:30 and 10:45 am.

Nursery is available for infants and toddlers from 10:30 during the second service, however all children are welcome to stay during worship. Communion is offered on the first Sunday of the month and is open to all.

Sunday School and Confirmation Class take place, at 9:30 am, right after the first service. Classes for ALL ages are available, including adults. Adult Sunday School is featuring new leadership and a new curriculum! We will tackle some exciting & thought-provoking topics in fun and interesting ways. Bring your questions, thoughts and ideas so that we can learn together and enjoy some fellowship with each other. The first unit will focus on the question “What is God’s will for my life?” Nursery care will be provided for parents wishing to attend.

If you are interested in joining any of our choirs, please contact the church office. Weekly practices for Adult Choir are Thursdays at 7 pm . Other practices include: Starting Sept 12 at 8:15 pm for Adult Bells, Sept 19 at 6 pm for Youth Bells, Sept 19 at 7 pm for Cherub Choir, and Sept 19 at 7:15 for Children’s Choir.

If anyone has suffered a loss at any time and would like to attend a Grief Support session, these sessions are open to the community and are free of charge. Meetings occur Wednesday evenings at 7 pm. Call the church office for more information.

“Pounding the Pastor” Fall Food Pantry campaign: Pastor JP has weighed-in! We are hoping to gather at least 3x his weight in the upcoming weeks for the Mountain Top Food Bank. There is a treasure chest in the Narthex for donations of non-perishable food. Please remember those in need by donating generously.

We will welcome Mark Kroos, nationally recognized musician & recording artist, performing on a two-neck guitar, in worship on Sunday, September 22.

Please join us for an American Red Cross Memorial Blood Drive, in loving memory of Judi Stanton on Saturday, September 28 from 9 am to 3 pm. Judi was a loving wife, mother, and talented local artist. We want to honor Judi, and give back to the community because doing for others is exactly what Judi did.

The Friendship Circle will be selling delicious, homemade Apple Dumplings on Sept 28 from 9 am until they are gone—don’t miss out!

Also on Saturday, September 28 from 3pm to 6pm, the United Methodist Men will host a Chicken Barbeque on the lawn. Meal will include half a chicken, baked potato, corn on the cob, coleslaw, baked beans, dessert and birch beer (or bottled water), all for only $9. Reservations are appreciated to Church Office hours are Mon –Fri. 9am –2 pm
