In 2002, Mountain Top Youth Soccer Association acquired their new
50-acre youth soccer site on Church Road. Over the next 7 years, they
held fund raisers, applied for grants, interviewed contractors, and finished
construction of four full-size soccer fields, complete with
irrigation, along with a 200-car parking area, and a pair of on-site stormwater management basins.
Now MYSA plans to put the finishing touches on the Complex with
a brand new Concession Building. Funded in part by the F.M. Kirby
Foundation, the new building will
house vehicles and equipment ( including goals, nets, balls, corner flags,
and all the other paraphernalia
to run a 700-member soccer
along with a picnic pavilion and a take-out food service for families and
players attending games and tournaments at the venue.
Architectural plans for the new building were completed last month, and bids for the new construction will be sought between now and early
September. Construction is expected to begin this Fall. Anyone interested
in bidding on the job can contact Penny Powley (474-5463) or Jon
