HHWC To Host ‘Putting The Garden To Bed’ Program

Did your garden produce lovely flowers or lots of healthy vegetables this year? If so, then your garden deserves some ‘TLC.’ The Hazleton Health & Wellness Center (HHWC) will host a “Putting the Garden to Bed” program on Tuesday, August 27, from 6:00 p. m. to 7:00 p. m. in the Lower-Level of the center. The Hazleton Health & Wellness Center is located at 50 Moisey Drive in Hazleton (across from Wal-mart).

Join us to learn about fall gardening tasks, such as: dividing and transplanting perennials, general clean up of beds, preparing new planting beds for spring, and planning for next year’s garden. Sandy Visintainer, from the Penn State Master Gardener Speakers Bureau, Penn State Cooperative Extension of Luzerne County, will be the guest speaker.

The program is free, but pre-registration is required. Visit www.ghha.orgto register through the Calendar of Events or call (570) 501-6204. Pictured is Mary Ann Miller, Penn State Master Gardener, lecturing at HHWC’s community program in May.
