Wright Twp. Man Faces Extradition On Felony Criminal Sexual Conduct

David Troy Zarn, 47, of Walden Park was taken into custody by officers from the Wright Township Police Department along with  Luzerne County Detective Charles J. Balogh, “on an arrest warrant from the state of Michigan,” according to Wright Twp. Police Chief Royce Engler.

“Zarn has been charged with several felony counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct stemming from incidents that took place between 2004 and 2006 in the state of Michigan,” he states.

He was taken before District Magisterial Judge James M. Dixon of Hazleton for arraignment. An extradition hearing has been set for July 25 at the Luzerne County Courthouse.

Court documents filed by Balough

and Wright Officer Michael Marshall show that Det. Balough was notified on July 12th that Zarn was wanted by the Detroit Police Department, “on an outstanding warrant for six counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct (Person under 13 years of age –Felony 1st Degree) and two counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct (Person under 13 years of age –Felony 2nd Degree).”

The report says that the Michigan warrant was issued on July 1st. Detroit officials requested that Zarn be held for their department.
