LCCC AUTOMATED INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE ADVISORY TEAM MEETS-The Automated Industrial Maintenance Advisory Team at Luzerne County Community College recently held a luncheon meeting at the College’s Educational Conference Center. The advisory team is designed to provide a forum to exchange information between industry professionals and LCCC staff. Through the Trade Adjustment and Assistance Community College Career Training Grant from the Department of Labor (JobTrakPA), the College was able to purchase Servo Systems and the corresponding training. The new equipment will better prepare students for workplace demands in Programmable Logic Control, Factory Talk® and Human Machine Interface systems. The industrial group meets every six months to share ideas, strategize and maximize the labor force. According to Helene Flannery, project manager for JobTrakPA, “Advanced manufacturing is critical to the health of the national economy and provides essential goods and equipment directly to consumers and other industries. Industry involvement is the key to the economic health of our region.” “Through the partnership, we continue to expand the automated industrial maintenance employment opportunities in Northeastern Pennsylvania,” Flannery adds.
