The Fairview Township Board of Supervisors approved plans for Taylor Estates residential development at their July 1 meeting.
Final approval for the 28-home development was granted contingent upon the following:
1. Receipt of copies of executed (and recorded as applicable) financial guarantee of improvements and development construction schedule
2. Receipt of all necessary agreements, including but not limited to the Woodlands Avenue Maintenance and Improvements Agreement, and Private Restrictions and Protective Covenants for the Taylor Estates Subdivision.
Also under new business, the board approved the creation of a third lot on the Kirby Avenue commercial corner that results in the private street serving a total of three lots.
In other business, board chairman Mike Iorio reported the Fairview Park Summer Program has been very successful with 100 children presently participating.
Mountain Top Hose Co. No. 1 responded to 14 calls during the month of June. Hose Co. President Dave Hourigan reported the department received a $59,000 grant from the Dept. of Homeland Security to be used for coats, hats and boots. Hourigan also noted the annual Bazaar will be held on July 19, 20 and 21. Supervisor Bob Orloski asked Hourigan if the closing of the Rice Twp. Fire Co. will have any impact on the Fairview Fire Co. to which Hourigan responded maybe
