LCCC RADIO STATION WINS NATIONAL BROADCASTING AWARDS

LCCC RADIO STATION WINS NATIONAL BROADCASTING AWARDS-The Luzerne County Community College student radio station, WSFX-FM, recently won multiple first place awards in the National College Radio Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS) competition. The annual competition includes all college radio stations across the country. WSFX-FM took first place for “Best Promo Series” for its promo of Andrew W. K. Teaching “How to Party,” which was produced by Dave Olah, Val Bendas, and Lauren Cunningham. This is the second year in a row that WSFX-FM has won the “Best Promo Series” category. The station also won first place in the “Best Documentary” category for “The Killing of Local Radio,” which was produced, researched, and anchored by Jill Bodek.
