Middle school students at MMI Preparatory School received academic and athletic awards during a recent assembly at the school.

The following students achieved academic honors in the subjects listed:

Freeland American Legion Awards were presented to Dana Carrato, Allison McGeehan, Ali Aijaz, Mountaintop, and Nicholas Young.

SIGMA math contest winners were honored, with Frederick Mejia receiving top honors for sixth grade, Aaron Harman for seventh grade and Ryan Touey, Mountaintop, for eighth grade.

Sixth-grade science fair winners were honored, with Morgan Long receiving first place, Brandon Ascencio receiving second place and

Open House Awards were presented in two categories to the following students:

Science: Joshua Narrow, first place, “The Mathematics of Tesseracts”; Caitlyn Kline, Mountaintop, second place, “The Abacus”; Joshua Kalada-Kania, honorable mention, “Oar mention, “The Chaos Theory.”

Humanities: Angelica Alday, Mountaintop, first place, “Tan Yau Hoong”; and Garrett Kost, second place, “Coal Mining the Anthracite Region in PA.”

Other awards were presented as Award, Alexander Sessock; Joseph Turri Library Award, Jett Chen; and the Prudential Spirit of Community Award, Lacee Gera.

All mid-school athletes received certificates honoring them for
