ST. JUDE’S OBSERVES COMMUNITY READING DAY

ST. JUDE’S OBSERVES COMMUNITY READING DAY -The 17th Annual Community Reading Day was recently observed through a partnership with the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce. Mrs. Beverly Cruikshank, Manager of First Keystone Community Bank in Mountaintop, was this year’s business volunteer. Mrs. Cruikshank visited the second grade class at St. Jude’s and read Ping by Marjorie Flack. It is the story of a domesticated Chinese duck that lives on a riverboat on the Yangtze River in China. The book was selected by the Northeast Pennsylvania Reading Association and was donated to the classroom library. Shown, front from left: Lauren Urosevich, Noah Billig, and Taylor Bayley.
