Ryan P. Kruchinsky, 28, of Hazle Township, was arrested by Trp. Eric
Fetterman, Pennsylvania State Police, Hazleton Barracks, on January 12th
for Driving Under the Influence and
traffic related complaints. The incident took place in Rice Township on
Interstate 81. Kruchinsky was observed swerving and his vehicle appeared to be emitting smoke from the
engine compartment. After a field sobriety test, Kruchinsky was placed under
arrest. His Blood Alcohol Level was found to register 0.281%. A
Preliminary Hearing scheduled on
March 6, 2013 before Magistrate Ronald Swank was continued. +++++
Richard E. Wozniak, 52, of Wapwallopen, was arrested by Trp.
Willliam P. McDermott, Pennsylvania State Police, Hazleton Barracks,
on February 9th for Driving Under the Influence and traffic
related complaints. This incident took place on Morio Drive in
Wright Township. A strong odor of alcohol was detected when the vehicle
was stopped. Wozniak was asked to exit the vehicle and to perform
coordination exercises, which he failed. Blood alcohol results showed
a level of 0.122%. The case is awaiting Preliminary Hearing.
+++++ Dana M. Abend, 23, of Hanover Twp,
was arrested by Trp. William P. McDermott, Pennsylvania State Police,
Hazleton Barracks, on December 31st for Driving Under the
Influence and traffic related complaints. The incident took place in
Rice Township on Interstate 81.
Abend was observed driving under unsafe conditions due to the entire rear window being coveredwith snow and ice. Upon Abend’sexiting the vehicle, the officerdetected indications of inebriationand a portable breath test produced areading of 0.134%. Subsequent testsresulted in a BAC of 0.122%. Thecase is awaiting Preliminary hearing.
+++++ Edward J. Atkinson, 52, ofWapwallopen,
was arrested by Sgt. Scott Rozitski, Wright TownshipPolice, on February 1st for DrivingUnder the Influence and a trafficrelated complaint.
The incident took place on SouthMain Road in Wright Township. Atkinson was involved in a onevehicle accident. Upon arriving atthe scene, Sgt. Rozitski determinedthat Atkinson appeared intoxicated. Having failed the field sobriety tests, Atkinson was taken into custody. Blood Alcohol Levels were found tobe 0.202%. A Preliminary Hearing isscheduled before Magistrate Swankis scheduled for March 13th.
+++++ Eugene J. Adams, Jr., 26, ofMountaintop,
was arrested by Ptlm. Stephan Wengen of the FairviewTownship Police Department, oncharges of Theft By Unlawful Taking, Movable Property, and Harassment –Threatening Language. The chargesarose from an incident on February3rd at Whistle Stop Pizza, whereAdams worked. Ptlm. Wengen wasinformed that another employee hadobserved Adams removing cash froma register and Adams had threatenedthe other worker if he reported it. APreliminary Hearing set for March13th has been continued to March27th.
