Happy Hour Fundraiser

Crestwood Girls Softball Booster Club will be holding their Annual Happy Hour fundraiser at the Dorrance Inn on Saturday, March 23 from 6-8PM. The tickets are $20 per person. ‘Comets in the House Night’

Crestwood Ice Hockey Club is holding a night out at Cavanaugh’s Grille March 23. Tickets may be purchased for $20.00 at the door and will include food, beer, wine and soda from 6 –8 p. m. Please come join us for a fun evening of good food and great company, and while doing so support our local middle and high school ice hockey league.

Spring Fling-Craft & Vendor Fair

St. Jude School will be hosting a SPRING FLING -CRAFT and VENDOR FAIR on Saturday, March 23, 2013 from 10 a. m. to 4 p. m. at St. Jude School Cafeteria 422 South Mountain Blvd, Mountain Top, PA 18707 Over 25 Crafters and Vendors. Youth Soccer Registration

Mountain Top Youth Soccer Association (MYSA) will hold its first player registration for the 2013 fall soccer season on Sat., March 23, from 9 am to 12 noon at the Crestwood High School cafeteria. Additional registrations will be Wed., April 3, from 6 pm to 9 pm, and on Sat., April 6, from 9 am to 12 noon. (A $25 late fee applies to any registrations made after April 6.) Youngsters can be registered for MYSA’s “recreational” league, or players can gather information to tryout for a more competitive “travel” team. Registration and fund raiser fees cover a more than 3-month schedule of games and practices (Aug. –Nov.), plus all referee costs, field development and maintenance, and a full uniform for each player, including shirt, shorts and socks. For children not registered with MYSA last year, a birth certificate is required. Eligible players must be from 4 to 18 years of age, as of July 31, 2013. Blytheburn Lake Assoc. Meeting

The Blytheburn Lake Association will hold its annual meeting at the American Legion Post 781 off Church Road in Mountaintop on March 25, 2013 at 7 p. m. The meeting is open to the public and we invite all persons interested in finding out more about the Lake to attend. Several events for this fishing season are being planned, including bass tournaments, a children’s fishing derby, and a raffle with over $1000 in prizes. The Lake is over 100 years old and in pristine condition due to the work of the Association and its members. For more information call 868-6895.

Mountain Top Social Club

The Mountain Top Social Club will meet on March 26 at the St. Jude’s Church in the Father Nolan Hall Day Room. Doors will open at 3:15 pm. New members are welcome. Knights of Columbus Charter Night

The Mountain Top Area Knights of Columbus will meet on March 26, 2013 at 7:30 p. m. at the Knights of Columbus home. The council will observe the fortieth anniversary of receiving the council’s charter at this meeting. A brief program will be presented and light refreshments will be served. Good Friday Fish Fry Dinner

On Good Friday, March 29, the Mountain Top Venturing Crew #461 will be serving a fried fish dinner at the American Legion Post #781 on Church Road. The “Take Out” dinners can be picked up at the pavilion next to the baseball field. Meals will be available from NOON until 7 p. m., rain or shine. Tickets are $8.00 per person, and the price includes three pieces of fried haddock, French fries, cole slaw, a roll and dessert. Community Egg Hunt

Children are invited to Mountaintop Family Church’s Annual Community Egg Hunt. It will be on Saturday, March 30th at 1pm at the church on Route 309 (369 S. Mtn. Blvd) in the Grouse Hills complex. Pet Food & Supplies Drive

Pet Food and Supplies Collection Drive Benefiting The Luzerne County S. P. C. A. will be conducted through March 31, 2013. Donation sites at these participating Mountaintop retailers: P & D Pet Supply and Carone’s Market. The drive is the Eagle Scout Service Project for Life Scout David Havard of Troop 60, Mountaintop.

Rice Elementary PTA

Free Diabetes Classes

Triangle Pharmacy is accepting individuals into its Spring Diabetes Education Program. A series of four small group classes based on ADA guidelines will be held April 3rd through May 31, 2013. Morning, afternoon and evening sessions will be offered. Participants will receive individual counseling with a Registered Dietitian and a Nurse/Certified Diabetes Educator.
