Christ United Methodist Church Easter Egg Hunt Slated March 23

Rev. Stephen Sours, Ph. D., Christ United Methodist Church, 175 S. Main Rd., Mountaintop, welcomes everyone to Worship Services at 8:30 or 10:45. and Sunday School classes for children and adults are held at 9:30. Communion is offered the first Sunday of the month.

The Shadow of the Cross-A Contemporary Tenebrae Service Presented by the Chancel Choir of Christ United Methodist Church on Good Friday Evening, March 29, 2013 at 7 p. m. For shadows to exist, there must be light. In the case of the Passion story of our Lord, that light, as the gospel of John tells us, “Was the light of all People.” (John 1:4). of Jesus’s life including his crucifixion. But as John affirms, “ the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.” (John 1:5 ) May we be reminded that the cross ultimately leads to the “ Father of Lights.”

Ecumenical services will be on March 28th Maundy Thursday at 7 p. m. and Good Friday, March 29th at noon at The First Presbyterian church in Mountain Top.

CUMC will have a Tenebrae Cantata on Good Friday at 7 p. m.

Easter Services-8:30 a. m. and 10:45 a. m.

The Group of quilters and crafters meet every Tuesday morning at the church at 9:30 a. m. All ladies from the community are invited to come and share the fellowship. Coffee is provided and bring a lunch for yourself. Birthdays are celebrated and a good time for all.

Easter Lilies are now on sale for $8.00 per plant. Please see envelopes in the narthex.

CUMC will have an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 23rd. There will be a pancake breakfast for the children at 10 a. m. then a video and an egg hunt. Have a great time!!!

Lenten Bible Study-9:30 a. m. Sunday, during adult Sunday School and Tuesday evenings in Lent at 7 p. m.

Grief Support Classes: If anyone has suffered a loss and is interested in attending the Grief Support sessions during the winter months, please contact Debbie Evanko at 474-5243 (evenings). Due to possible weather issues, a regular schedule will not be posted. The schedule will be decided on a weekly basis at the convenience of the class members

The Confirmation class is planning a trip to The Sight and Sound Theatre and the Amish Village on April 20th. There will be more information in future bulletins or you can speak with Tim Vickers or Kim Hirt.
