The Crestwood girls basketball team cruised past Tunkhannock in a game played January 22.
The Lady Comets started the game strong, ending the first half up by 17 points. The relentless scoring attack continued into the second half, proving to be too much for Tunkhannock .
Sara Hopkins and Julia Makowski paced the Lady Comets scoring attack with 19 and 18 points respectively. Helena Jardine scored in double digits with 11.
Also putting points on the board for Crestwood were Sara Richards with seven and Andrea Shipton, five. Andrews and Magin each tossed in two in the win.
Crestwood fell to Nanticoke, losing a heartbreaker to the visiting Lady Trojans on January 25.
Nanticoke took a 24-4 lead after the first quarter, capitalizing on Crestwood’s 10 turnovers in the opening stanza.
The Lady Comets came back in the second to outscore their opponents, 16-15. In the third quarter, Hopkins and Makowski each scored seven points while Shipton chipped in six. Crestwood made it a one-point game in the fourth but a three-pointer by Nanticoke’s Grilz sealed the win.

boys dominated Tunkhannock en route to a 55-39 victory.
Crestwood led from start to finish, outscoring their opponents in every quarter.
The Comets were led by Mike Palmiero and Camden Boris who each scored 11 points, followed by Knapp with 10. Also scoring for the winners were Ryan Petrosky and Sean Murphy with nine points each, Frank Casarella chipped in three and Kevin Klusewitz tossed in two.
Crestwood lost to visiting Nanticoke Area, 50-33, on January 26. The Trojans got off to a strong start and kept the pressure on throughout the game.
Knapp led the Comets with nine points. Teammates Boris added seven, Palmiero, six, Petrosky, five, and Klusewitz, two.
