St. Jude’s To Host Power Night Program For High School Students January 28

St. Jude’s Catholic Church services are Saturday: 4 p. m. and Sunday: 8:30 a. m. and 11 a. m. Parish office hours are Monday-Thursday: 7:30 a. m.-3 p. m.; Friday and Saturday: closed and Sunday: 9:30 a. m.-12:30 p. m.

St. Jude School is accepting registrations for the 2018-2019 school year. An Open House is Sunday, January 28 from 12 to 2 p. m. Join us for Mass at 11 a. m. and then come to our Open House.

St. Jude School is a Catholic elementary school serving grades Pre-K (3 and 4 year old) through 8th grade. The school is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary Schools. St. Jude School functions in accord with the directives of the Catholic Church, the Scranton Diocesan Office of Education and the State of Pennsylvania.

Power Night, a powerful message for high school students, will be held Sunday, January 28th from 5 to 6:30 p. m. in St. Jude School cafeteria. Chris Stefanick, the author of the Chosen Confirmation program, has devoted his life to inspiring young people to live a bold, contagious faith, will speak to high school students about how at times they might feel small and insignificant. “Soup-er” Bowl Sunday-On February 4, “Soup-er Bowl” will be held at St. Jude Parish. To help others a zesy meal, cans of soup will be collected to stock the shelves of the Mountain Top Food Bank at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Bins will be located in the Narthex the weekend of Feb. 3-4, 2018. Please continue to donate non-perishable items in the ongoing monthly food collection.

Wanted: People to be “Keepers of God’s House”. Please consider volunteering a few hours a month to maintain our church beauty by becoming a “Keeper of God’s House”. Baby Bottles were distributed in support of Pro-Lie. Please fill the bottle with your loose change and return it this weekend. The money collected will go directly to support our local Pennsylvanians for Human Life efforts.

Grade 8 Placement/Scholarship Test Result and Registration Night will be held January 24 at 7 p. m. in the Auditorium. The following food items are needed for the Mt. Top Food Bank: boxed soup mix, noodles, cream soups, baked beans, jelly, peanut butter, canned fruit, tuna, mayo, pudding, Jello, sugar, hot chocolate and coffee.
