The Boy Scouts of America and the Wascavage Family, to honor the memory of their son Matthew Wascavage, are collecting winter coats, hats, gloves, scarves and mittens for those in need. All sizes for children and adult are needed. Please drop off new and gently used winter items in the collection boxes located in the Mountaintop Eagle office at 85. S. Main Road, the NEPA Boy Scouts of America office on Montage Mountain Road, and Lewith & Freeman office Mountaintop. Donations will be accepted now up to December 29. Thank you for your help in keeping someone warm this winter. Items will be taken to the St. Vincent DePaul Soup Kitchen clothes room and shelter locations throughout Northeastern and Central PA. Mt Top Post 781 Sons of the American Legion announce their 2018 event schedule. Regular meetings will be held on the second Tuesday of each month at 6pm: January 9, February 13, March 13, April 10, May 8, June 12, July 10, August 14, September 11, October 9, November 13 and December 11. There will also be a district meeting held on Sunday, April 8. The S. A. L. will be holding three events throughout the year. On Sunday, May 6 there will be the annual chicken dinner, Sunday, July 29 will be the S. A. L Car Show and on Sunday, October 7 they will hold their waffle dinner.
