St. Jude’s Catholic Church services are Saturday: 4 p. m. and Sunday: 8:30 a. m. and 11 a. m.

Parish office hours are Monday-Thursday: 7:30 a. m.-3 p. m.; Friday and Saturday: closed and Sunday: 9:30 a. m.-12:30 p. m.

The Sanctuary Lamp in the church burns 24 hours to remind us of the sacramental presence of Jesus Christ. Parishioners may request the Sanctuary Lamp to burn for one week in memory or in honor of a loved one. Intentions will be published in the weekly bulletin. The customary donation is $10. Please contact the parish office to schedule a Memorial. Intentions begin the first week of Advent Sunday, December 3rd.

Parishioners are needed to light the Advent wreath at all weekend Masses during Advent: Dec. 9 and 10, 16 and 17, and 23 and 24. To sign up for any Masses on those weekends, please contact Carrie at

St. Jude School is hosting Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 2 from 9 a. m. to 12 noon in St. Jude School cafeteria. Cost is $10 for age 12 to adult and $5 under 12. Bring your camera or cell phone as Santa will be available for pictures. For ticket information contact St. Jude School at 570-474-5803.

The Giving Tree remembers the shut-ins of the parish and the less fortunate of the community. The tree has tags requesting gifts and plants. Please select a tag, purchase and wrap your gift (unless otherwise requested), and then label the gift with the same tag. Please cover all plants to protect them from the cold. Diocesan Religious Medals-Classes will begin soon for “Family of God” medal for 3rd grade students, “I Live My Faith” medal for 6th grade students, “Mary, the First Disciple” for 7th through 9th grade students, and “Spirit Alive” for 10th through 12th grade. St. Jude Parish Christmas Pageant will be held Sunday, Dec. 17 at 4:30 p. m. to coincide with Lessons and Carols Concert. All children age 4 through high school are invited to take part in this new St. Jude tradition. Practices will be held each Saturday in December. Bambinelli Sunday, a tradition started by St. John Paul II, will be celebrated at St. Jude parish Sunday, December 17th at 8:30 a. m. Mass.

Children are invited to come and create their own Nativity scene prior to Bambinelli Sunday on Sunday, December 10 at 10:45 a. m. nor 12 noon in the Day Room at St. Jude School. They can bring their own newly made baby Jesus with them on December 17th for the blessing.

‘Keepers of God’s House’-Please consider volunteering a few hours a month to maintain our church beauty by becoming a “Keeper of God’s House”. This is a new ministry for both men and women. Contact Maureen Rushkowski at 570-262-1834 for more information.

The annual Cookie Walk to benefit the Youth Ministry Program is scheduled Sat., Dec. 16 from 9 a. m. to 1 p. m. In order for the Cookie Walk to be a success, parishioners are asked when baking cookies for Christmas please bake a double or triple batch to be sold at the Cookie Walk. Drop off is Friday, Dec. 15 from 4-7 p. m. in St. Jude School Day Room. Please drive behind the school and use the Day Room doors.

Advent by Candlelight is an evening of fellowship, spiritual reflection, desserts and beautiful table settings on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 6:30 p. m. in St. Jude School Cafeteria. St. Jude’s 11th Annual Lessons & Carols Concert will be held Sunday, December 17th at 4 p. m. in the church. The concert tells the story of our salvation history in Christ and features the church Music Ministry and Christmas Pageant, guest instrumentalists and a light reception to follow in the school cafeteria.
