The Boy Scouts of America and the Wascavage Family are collecting winter coats, hats, gloves, scarves and mittens for those in need. All sizes for children and adult are needed. Please drop off new and gently used winter items in the collection boxes located in the Mountaintop Eagle office at 85. S. Main Road, the NEPA Boy Scouts of America office on Montage Mountain Road, and Lewith & Freeman office Mountaintop. Donations will be accepted now up to December 29. Thank you for your help in keeping someone warm this winter. Items will be taken to the St. Vincent DePaul Soup Kitchen clothes room and shelter locations throughout Northeastern and Central PA. The Fairview Elementary PTA will be having our monthly meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 8th at 6 pm in the school’s library. All parents/grandparents/guardians of Fairview Elementary students are encouraged to attend the meeting to learn about upcoming events at the school. Babysitting will be provided.
Crestwood Baseball Booster Club will hold its next meeting on November 8, 2017 at 6:30pm in the lower level of Kings Pizza. Please join the meeting to organize the events for the upcoming season. If your child will be playing Crestwood Baseball we hope that you will attend.
The Mountain Top Social Club will meet November 14th and 28th at 1 p. m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on Route 309 Mountain Top. Christmas dinner will be at 12 p. m. on Dec. 5th at the Sands Country Club. There will be no more meetings until February 2018. Mountain Top on the Move is hosting a blood drive from 1 to 6 p. m. Friday, Nov. 10, at the Wright Township Fire Hall. Donations of cases of bottled water and Gatorade will be accepted for the firefighters.
Faith United Methodist Church, 1448 Slocum Road, in Slocum Township, will be holding a Homemade Chicken & Waffle Supper on Saturday, November 11, 2017 serving family style from 4 to 7 p. m. Take-outs are available from 3:30 p. m. The cost is $9 for age 13 to adult, $5 for children age 5 to 12, and children under age 4 are free. Tickets can be purchased at the Supper.
The Crestwood Boys Basketball Booster Club will be holding its annual Nite At The Races on November 11, 2017 at the Wright Township Fire Hall. The doors will open at 6pm. Post time starts at 7pm. Your $10 donation per person includes admission, one horse, food and beverages. Must be 21 or older to attend. Come out and support Crestwood Boys Basketball!
Saint Mary’ Church, 3529 Saint Mary’s Road, Wapwallopen (Dorrance Twp), will hold their annual Turkey BINGO on Sunday, November 12, at 1 p. m. Doors open at noon. Entrance Donation $2.
