Crestwood Sports Scan

The Crestwood girls tennis team lost a close match to Wyoming Valley West on September 18 by the score of 3-2.

For the Lady Comets, Abby Bielecki defeated Madisen Jastremski, 6-2, 6-2, in Singles No. 1.

The team of Korina Cheng and Hannah Sobolewski defeated Macey Raskiewicz and Kaylei Shonick in doubles, 6-2, 6-4.

Crestwood lost a close match 3-2 on September 21.

At third singles, Lady Comet Breena Kravchick defeated her opponent, 7-5, 2-6, 7-6 (7-5).


In volleyball, the Crestwood girls lost to Berwick, 3-1 September 19. Scores were 25-10, 25-19, 14-25 and 25-22.

Kristen Kania led the Lady Comets with 26 assists, six service points, 10 digs and five kills, while Natasha Geisler finished with eight service points and 10 kills.

Jordan Rinehimer chipped in with 11 service points followed by Jenna Newienski had 10 service points.

MMI Prep handed Crestwood the Comets’ second defeat last week, winning 3-1 on September 21. Scores were 23-25, 25-19, 25-2, and 22-21.

Kania finished with 24 assists, six service points and 10 points. Rinehimer chipped in with 16 service points.


The Crestwood boys soccer team shut out Wyoming Area, 6-0, in a game played September 19.

For Crestwood, Hubert Herrera tallied three goals for the winners. Also scoring for the Comets were Payton Glynn, Michael Ceklosky and Peter Espiritu with once goal each.

Justin Sterling was credited with an assist.

Crestwood captured another win last week when they defeated Wyoming Valley West on September 22.

Max Gariano led the winners with three goals. Teammate Hubert Herrera had two goals and two assists.

Aide Zabiegalski had five saves for the Comets.

to defeated Dallas, 2-1, in a field hockey game played September 20.

Emma Janosczyk and Chloe Green each scored for Crestwood. Arden Morgans had two assists in the victory, the Lady Comets first of the 2017 season.

Eryn Venesky had eight saves for Crestwood.
