Crestwood HS To Celebrate Homecomeing September 30

CRESTWOOD CHEERLEADERS will be revving up the crowd at the 2017 Homecoming Game on Saturday, September 30. Kickoff time is 7 p. m. Prior to the game, the Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned. Members of the varsity cheerleading squad are, in front, are seniors Haley Dow, Hannah Hilpp, and Skylar Tombasco. Crestwood High School will be celebrating the 2017 Homecoming on Saturday, September 30.

The week leading up to the parade has many activities to help raise spirits for the big game.

The Theme Days this week are: “America Monday”, “Team Tuesday”, “Class Color Day” Wednesday, “Throwback Thursday”, and “Spirit Day Friday”

The Crestwood football team will take on Nanticoke Area in the Homecoming Game. Kickoff is 7 p. m.

The Junior/Senior Class Powder Puff game will be held Wednesday, September 27 at 6:30 p. m. All are welcome to attend.

The 2017 Homecoming Parade will held on Saturday, September 30th starting at approximately 4:00pm from the Christ United Methodist Church and will proceed down South Main Road to Crestwood High School.

The crowning of the 2017 Homecoming Queen and King will take place on Saturday, September 30th at 6:15 pm on the football field. The Homecoming game against Nanticoke Area will follow at 7:00pm.

Ten students will be vying for the title of Homecoming Queen and King. They are: Kaitlyn Bobeck, Haley Dow, Morghan Murphy, Sydney Sobolewski, Sarah Macko, Brandon Brozena, Owen Grigas, Justin Darden, Kevin Klusewitz, and Jeffrey Schmude.

Morghan Murphy is the daughter of Mimi and Tom Murphy. She has two brothers, Connor and Sean. At Crestwood she is a part of the Spanish and National Honor Society, she plays field hockey and softball and she is the Senior Class Secretary. In her free time she enjoys going to hoopla! with her pal Lauren, playing with her fat cat Oliver, but most importantly hanging with her best friend Sean Murphy. Her future plans are to attend college and study nursing.


Sarah Macko is the daughter of Mark and Debra Macko. She plays varsity softball at Crestwood. She enjoys walking her dog with her sister Sami and hanging out with friends. Her future plans are to major in Biology and hope to become a Doctor.


Kaitlyn Bobeck is the daughter of Brian and Dawn Bobeck. She has an older brother, Matt. Kaitlyn played lacrosse as a junior, but her main focus has always been riding. She competes in USEF competitions through the year and plans to ride competitively in college. Kaitlyn doesn’t have a lot of spare time but enjoys spending it with friends. Her future plans are to major in Pre Law.


Sydney Sobolewski is the daughter of Dave and Jennifer Sobolewski. She is a varsity softball catcher. She enjoys playing softball, baking, creating artwork and hiking. Her future plans include attending IUP’s Culinary Arts Program and getting a bachelors degree in Hospitality Management.


Haley Dow is the daughter of Tim and Kristin Dow. Haley is a cheerleader at Crestwood and also on the softball team. Haley enjoys being with her friends and softball. Her future plans include attending Chatham University to become an Interior Architect.


Kevin Klusewitz is the son of Lisa and Greg Klusewitz. He has one brother, Jason. Kevin plays football, basketball, lacrosse at Crestwood and is part of the Math Club. He enjoys hanging out with friends and going to Angelo’s Pizzeria. His future plans include going to Penn State Main Campus for 4years and going to medical school to specialize in orthopedics.


Jeff Schmude is the son of Jeff and Michelle Schmude. He has one sister, Lauren. Jeff plays football at Crestwood. He enjoys fishing and hanging out with friends. His future plans are to go to college.


Brandon Brozena is the son of Jason and Kelley. He has two brothers, Aidan and Dylan. Brandon plays football and baseball at Crestwood. He enjoys hanging out with friends. His future plans are to become a dentist.


Justin Darden is the son of Dave and Dawn Darden. He is a member of the baseball team at Crestwood. He enjoys sitting at Turkey Hill with his friends. His future plans include attending college and majoring in computer engineering.

and Denise Grigas. He plays football and Lacrosse at Crestwood. He enjoys exploring the world around him and playing sports. His future plans are to go to college and become an orthodontist.
