St. Mary’s Religious Ed Classes To Begin Sept. 17

Welcome! We warmly welcome all visitors! If you are new to our parish community, please be sure to introduce yourself to Fr. Joe and Fr. Kevin. Contact the parish office if you would like to become a member of our parish.

The weekend Mass schedule is at St. Mary’s Church is Saturday at 5:30 p. m. and Sunday at 9 a. m.

Religious Education K-6: Saint Mary’s Religious education classes will begin on Sunday, September

17. Parents and children are to meet in the Church for the first class. The yearly calendar and other important information will be distributed. Classes meet on Sundays 9:50-11

Confirmation Students: Classes for ninth grade began September 10/11. Sunday class is 10:10-11:20 a. m. and Monday is 6:30-7:40 p. m. Please attend on your scheduled day.

Classes for seventh and eighth grade will begin after Columbus Day. Questions: Mrs. Urbanski 570-474-6315, ext. 228 or

Food Collection: Non-perishable food items are being collected for our local families in need. Canned goods (veggies, soup, fruit), peanut butter & jelly, mac and cheese, pasta, pasta sauce, crackers, granola, cereal, etc. Thank you!

Funeral Luncheon Volunteers Needed: Our parish has a tradition of offering home cooked meals to families after funerals. Volunteers are needed. Specifically, people are needed to provide a covered dish, set up, serve, and clean up. You can volunteer for one of these jobs or all of them. Typically there is a two day notice. Please call the parish office if you can help with this ministry.

Seminarian Dinner: The Knights of Columbus are sponsoring a Spaghetti Dinner on Saturday, September 30, from 5-8 p. m., in the social hall. Cost is $10 per person. All proceeds (100%) will be divided between our three seminarians. Take out will be available. Watch upcoming bulletins for information.

The Knights of Columbus are looking for men who would like to join their mission. The Order is dedicated to the principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism. Please call John for more information 516-241-5297.

The next Bingo will be held on Sunday, September 24, at 1 p. m., in the social hall. $20 -20 games, all paper. Specials. The kitchen will be open. Prizes will include a variety of purses, Vera Bradley, and Polish Pottery. Proceeds benefit Saint Mary’s Youth Ministry Program.

Spaghetti Supper for Bill Lukashewski-Sunday, October 22, 1-5 p. m.-Saint Mary’s Social Hall-Our faithful parishioner Bill Lukashewski is battling Stage 4 Esophageal Cancer. A Spaghetti Supper/Basket Raffle is planned to help defray the mounting medical expenses. Donation is $8. Take out available. Donations are being accepted (Desserts, Baskets, Raffle items, etc). Temporary Liturgy Schedule-Due to the final stages of construction of the new church, the following temporary changes will be in effect until September 17, 2017.

Saturday and Sunday Masses at St. Jude will be in the gym.

There will be one daily Mass at St. Mary with a St. Jude intention and a St. Mary intention.

All funerals, weddings, baptisms will be celebrated at St. Mary Church during this time

Sacrament of Reconciliation will be held at 4:30p.m, at St. Mary’s or by appointment. While we have Mass in the gym there will not be 3 p. m. confessions at St. Jude

Weekend Masses will remain the same times with the St. Jude masses to be celebrated in the gym.

St. Jude Adoration chapel will be closed until new church is dedicated. Adorers are asked to sign up for times on the new chart in the present chapel.

Extraordinary ministers of communion for weekday visits will go to St. Mary for the Eucharist.

Extraordinary ministers of communion for Sunday visits will receive Eucharist after or before Masses in the gym.

Gift Cards can be picked up or purchased at the table in the hallway outside the main entrance to the gym as usual around the Sunday Masses.

Sunday -8:30 and 11 a. m.. Sunday Religious Ed Classes

9:30 -10:45 a. m.

Monday, September 18, 2017 Monday -Thursday 8:30 a. m.

-3 p. m. or by appointment. In case of emergency please

call 570-474-6315, and follow the prompts for emergency. Your call will be returned as soon as possible by the on-call priest. Usually within an hour.
