David Plodwick, 73, formerly of Nanticoke, died August 27, at Northwest Hospital, Seattle Washington, after a battle with cancer.

David was born in Bridgeport, Conn., son of the late Leocadia (Lodzia) Robaczewski and Francis Plodwick.

Early in life, he returned with his parents to settle with their polish “PA” family roots in the Honey Pot Section of Nanticoke.

David graduated from St. Mary’s Parochial School 1958, Nanticoke High School 1962, where he was Class President, and from King’s College in 1966 with a degree in math, where he was also Class President and active with the Glee Club. He began his teaching career at Newport School district. He left the Pennsylvania area to locate to Michigan and finally settling in Seattle. He loved photography and traveling. At retirement, he was a technical instructor at Pioneer Industries a “long term Boeing philanthropic”.

David is survived by his loving wife, Jan DeRoos, his children Katie Rose Nahan and Annalise Sittser, as well as their respective spouses, Bradley Cleaver and John Sittser, and his grandson Peter David Sittser, all in Seattle, Washington area. David is also survived by his brother Conrad Plodwick, Lake Nuangola, and his sister Claudette George, Lake Carey, and their respective spouses, Regina and Tom as well as their children and David’s nieces Dawn Marie Chalk, Godchild of David, Mountain Top, Sarah Jenifer George, and Jessica Elizabeth Fiore Tunkhannock, as well as his cousins, Isabel Haydock, Nanticoke, his godmother, and Sylvia Stevens, New Jersey, and many cousins. David was great uncle to Corey J. and Cameron J. Chalk and Rosalie M. Fiore. Celebration of Dave’s life will take place in Seattle at a date to be announced. Funeral arrangements are pending.
