Presbyterian Church To Resume Sunday School September 10

Rev. James Shanley, pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Mountain Top, invites you to in worship Sunday, Sept. 10. The first day of Sunday School begins at 9:30 with the adult class meeting in the Sanctuary and all ages of children meeting in Fellowship Hall for Praise time and class assignments. The Worship Service begins at 11:00a.m. Communion will be shared during the Worship service.

Presbyterian Women will begin the church season with a covered dish luncheon at the home on Nancy Smith at 10 am on September 6. Please call her to let her know what you will bring. Anyone needing direction can meet in the church parking lot at 9:30 am. The upcoming fall Chile sale will be discussed, and Chapter 5 of Max Lucado’s book, WHEN CHRIST COMES, will be read and discussed. ALL women of the church are Presbyterian Women and are welcome.

Pastor Shanley’s Bible Class will resume on Sept. 13 and 20th. The class will study the book of RUTH. All adults are invited.

2017 dates to purchase bulletin covers to honor or recognize someone are now available. A month’s supply of bulletin covers is $35. If there is a certain month you would like to purchase check with the office for availability. Flowers are also available to purchase for $35 for the vases or a special arrangement for the pedestal. Contact Allison Pekar to schedule flowers or call the church office.

Ruth’s Place walk for Hope will be held on October 1st at the square in Wilkes Barre. The festivities begin at 12noon and continue til about 4. Consider forming or joining a team to raise funds and walk for the benefit of the only Women’s homeless shelter in Luzerne County. The day will include vendors, a D. J., basket raffles and service and health information.

The next date to serve at the St. Francis de Paul Soup Kitchen will be on October 7. If you are interested in being the hands and feet of Jesus, join in this opportunity for mission. More information can be obtained at the church of contact Pam Zaprazny.

Please continue to donate your food items weekly to be given to the Mountain Top food bank. Bins are located at the rear of the Sanctuary. The need is great for packaged items, mayo, coffee, sugar, peanut butter, rice, carrots and red beets.

The anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks on our country is quickly approaching. Please continue to pray for the president and country! Also continue to pray for our military families and those serving in all branches of the armed forces. If you want a name of your friend or family member added to our prayer list, contact the church offices. Service members are prayed for by name every Sunday!
