Misericordia University To Host Mathematics Symposium

The Department of Mathematics at Misericordia University will host the 8th Annual Luzerne and Lackawanna Counties Mathematics Symposium on Saturday, Oct. 7 from 8:30 a. m. to 1:30 p. m. in the Catherine Evans McGowan Room of the Mary Kintz Bevevino Library. The symposium is open, free to the public.

Coordinated by Misericordia University Associate Professor Steven Tedford, Ph. D., a resident of Mountaintop, the symposium features scholars from local colleges and universities who will offer 20-minutes presentations on topics in both research and teaching. The presenters include Patrick Touhey, Ph. D., professor of mathematics; Triet M. Pham, Ph. D., assistant professor of mathematics and computer science, and Yuhan Ding, Ph. D., assistant professor of computer science, all of Misericordia University; Steven Dougherty, Ph. D., professor of mathematics, and Leona Sparaco, assistant professor of mathematics, University of Scranton.
