Re-Creations To Perform Aug. 27 At Emmanuel UCC

Bring your family, your friends, your neighbors! Everyone is invited to St. James Lutheran Church to enjoy the music and enthusiasm of the group, Re-Creation. An inspirational evening of songs and worship is planned for August 27 at 6 pm. Re-creation was organized in 1976 to present live performances in hospitals, Veterans Affairs facilities, nursing homes and other care facilities. They now perform over 300 shows yearly to fund their mission to bring music and healing to others. This group of young people pack a lot of energy and spirit into their performance, which you can watch on YOUtube. The Old River Church is open for worship on Sunday evenings. The churches of the Wapwallopen Ministerium take turns hosting these services which begin at 6:00 pm. On August 20, the host church will be St. John’s UCC. You are invited to join in worship every Sunday evening through August 27. The Old River Church is on Rte. 239 (River Road) just north of Wapwallopen and Heller’s Orchard. Come back in time and back to God.

Sunday worship service is at 10:30 am and is led by Pastor Lou Aita. We welcome visitors and friends to join us for worship every Sunday.

Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Dorrance Township houses the Food Bank for the Wapwallopen Ministerium. All contacts are kept strictly confidential as we understand each person’s need for privacy and self-esteem. The food bank is open by appointment only. If we can help you or someone you know, please call (570) 868-5675 and we will provide nourishment for you and those you care for. Please give us at least 24-hour’s notice in order to set up an appointment.

Thank you to everyone who contributes to our recycling aluminum cans project and hope you will continue to help us raise funds by recycling cans to help needy families in our area. Through your help, our neighbors receive assistance to meet their daily needs. Please place the cans in large bags and drop them off in the large crates at the back of the lower parking lot.

Emmanuel United Church of Christ is located at 7768 Blue Ridge Trail at its intersection with Alberdeen Road (across from Andy’s Gas Station) in Dorrance Township, Mountain Top, and we invite you to join us on Sunday mornings for Sunday Worship Service at 10:30 am.
