was interested in a change to senior priest and was hoping that someone younger could take over as pastor,” said Father Mulhen. “When this position opened up at St. Jude, I was given the assignment.”

As Senior Priest, Father Mulhern will use his experience to assist in meeting the spiritual and liturgical needs of the Parish and the Mountaintop Community through masses, weddings and baptisms, as well as those of St. Jude School. Pastor Joe Evanko will continue full responsibility of the administrative duties of St. Jude and welcomes Father Mulhern to the community.

“We welcome his 40 years of experience,” remarked Father Joe.

Father Mulhern begins his tenure at St. Jude during a very pivotal time. His arrival on July 6 coincided with razing of the old church. He says he considers himself lucky to see the dedication of a new church building in his lifetime. “Every day I see the new church getting ready for the liturgical renewal of the area. It shows great growth and generosity of the people.”

Father Mulhern related he is looking forward to meeting new people and fitting

in with the parish community, as well as meeting the needs of a growing parish. He says he enjoys celebrating the special events of the community and the times of joy in people’s lives, as well as being there for them in times of life’s transitions.

“I am very happy to be part of the team here, he said. “People have been supportive of me and outgoing and I’ve felt a nice sense of welcoming. “

“I am looking forward to help build this part of the kingdom and serving their needs to help build a community of faith,” continued Father Mulhern. “I just pray God will bless me with good health and many years. “
