The Nuangola Volunteer Fire Department is pleased to announce that the CrabFest 2017 fundraiser will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017 from 2 to 7 p. m. at the Nuangola Grove Building (across the street from the firehouse). The menu includes an order of peel and eat shrimp (1 dozen), and steamed clams (1 dozen), all-you-can-eat hardshell crabs, pulled pork, clam chowder, fresh cut French fries, salads / sides & beverages. Tickets are $45 per person. No coolers or outside food/beverages are allowed. Tickets must be purchased in advance (by August 5). Send check / money order (payable to Nuangola Vol. Fire Dept) to: NVFD CRABFEST 2017, 5175 NUANGOLA ROAD, NUANGOLA PA 18707 with your return address to mail the tickets back; otherwise they will be held at the door. Cavanaugh’s Grille will hold their 13th Annual Golf Tournament Friday September 8, 2017 at Mountain Laurel Golf Club in White Haven. The captain and Crew format will have a 1:30 p. m. shotgun start. Cost is $90 per golfer and includes a 3 hour open bar and steak dinner following the tournament at Cavanaugh’ s Grille in Mountaintop. Prizes will awarded for 1st and 2nd place in 3 flights, putting contest, and closest to the pin. Team entry deadline is August 25. Hole Sponsors are also invited to participate at $50, $100, and $150 levels. The tournament supports the Mountaintop Hose Co No. One and also the Mountaintop Area Little league. A Car Show will be held at the Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 7768 Blue Ridge Trail Mountaintop, on August 27, 2017 from 1 to 6 p. m. All makes and models are welcome. The Trooper Ree and Eddie Engler Annual Memorial Benefit Motorcycle Ride & Concert is scheduled Saturday, September 9, 2017 at American Legion Post 781, Mountaintop. Ride registration begins at 10 a. m. Rice departs at 11:30 a. m. Concert & Celebration will be from 1 to 8 p. m. $20 donation includes all food, beverages and live entertainment.
