CHS Class of 77 is holding their 40th class reunion on Saturday, August 12, 2017 from 2 pm to 9 pm at the American Legion, Henry Dr. Mountain Top. A pig roast with all the trimmings and non alcoholic beverages are included. BYOB for adult drinks. Cost is $37 per person or $74 per couple. Ice breaker to be held Friday at the Outpost Inn, Hunlock Creek at 6 pm.
The Wright, Rice and Fairview Township Police Departments will be holding their 3rd Annual Law Enforcement National Night Out on August 1, 2017 from 5 to 9 p. m. in the Wright Township Municipal Park behind the Municipal buildings. Police officers, the FBI, U. S. Marshall’s Office and capitol Police will be on hand to speak with residents, demonstrate police equipment and will be providing free child identification kits. All children attending will be eligible to win a scooter as well as try their luck at raffle baskets.
GFWC Mountain Top will hold their regular monthly meeting on August 7th at 6:30 pm at the Christ United Methodist Church 175 S. Main Road Mountain Top. Area women ages 18 and older are always welcome to attend and learn more about the club. The annual Summer Park Program at Fairview Memorial Park run from Monday through Friday, August 18, 2016 from 10 a. m. to 4 p. m. Signups can be done at any time during the summer camp program. There will be swimming, arts and crafts, sports, outdoor games, nature hikes, science; field trips and much more. Please join us this summer at Memorial Park!
The Mountain Top Garden Club will meet on Tuesday, August 8th at 6:30 p. m. at the Rice Township municipal building. Our speaker will be Mary Jo Gibson, from the Penn State Extension. Mary Jo will be giving an informative presentation about native plants and how to use them in our garden spaces. This Garden Club meeting is open to the public and new members are always welcome! Mountaintop Family Church’s 15th Annual Community Summer Fun Fest will be held August 25th and 26th at 5:00pm at the Mountaintop Hose Fire Company picnic grounds. EVERYTHING IS 25 CENTS!! There will be food, games, and inflatables for the kids.
