David C. Wenner, 85, Mountain Top, died July 3, 2017, at Timber Ridge Health Care Center in Wilkes-Barre.
He was married to Janet (Zatzek) Wenner, the couple celebrating their 49th wedding anniversary in June.
Born in Hazleton on Aug. 29, 1931, he was the son of the late Henry J. and Emma (Hoffman) Wenner. He was self-employed as a carpet installer for 37 years and attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses Wilkes-Barre West Congregation. He was also an avid sports fan and fisherman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Robert, Kenneth, and infant brother, Herbert Wenner; sisters, Altheda Fairchild, Marian Harrell, Bebe Eckrote, Bettie Anthony and Emma Brandmier.
He is survived by his wife, Janet; son, Daryl P. Wenner and his wife, Krista, of Bloomsburg; one grandchild, Emma Wenner; brother, Donald Wenner, of Drums; sisters, Doris Koch, of Drums; Marjorie Houseknecht, of Drums; Joan Ziller, of Rock Glen; Laura Duna, of Drums; and Donna Wenner, of Drums; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held at the Simon S. Russin Funeral Home in Plains Township.
