Terroristic Threats, Simple Assault

Sean R. Trinkle, 48, 445 Buffalo St., White Haven, has been charged with Terroristic Threats, Simple Assault, Disorderly Conduct and Harassment stemming from an incident that took place on June 26, 2017. Officer Joshua Lowe of the White haven Boro Police Dept, filed the charges on June 30, 2017.

According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, on June 26, 2017 at about 6:30 p. m., Officer Lowe responded to the Exxon Mobile Gas Station at 500 Church St., White Haven for a report of a verbal altercation involving a firearm.

Officer Lowe made contact with two victims: Laura and Scott McCullough of White Haven. Laura stated that she pulled into the gas station with her husband, Scott, and was followed by an unknown person into the parking area of the Exxon station. Laura stated she was at pump 4 outside of her vehicle when she observed the unknown person pull a vehicle up behind her vehicle. She stated that the driver exited the vehicle and approached her and began using profanity against her. Scott being at the pump next to his vehicle instructed the unknown driver not to speak to his wife like that and leave. Scott stated the suspect called him a name and asked if he wanted to fight. Scott said he told the suspect that he didn’t want to fight and just leave him alone. Laura stated that was when the suspect returned to his vehicle and began looking for something under the driver’s seat. Scott stated the suspect advanced toward him in a walking manner with a closed left fist down at his side and then stated he pointed the fuel pump nozzle at the suspect telling him to stop and go home.

Scott stated that the suspect then returned to his vehicle and went into the back seat of the vehicle and then re-approached Laura pointing a small black handgun in the suspect’s left hand at Laura’s head stating “I’m going to shoot you bitch”. Laura said she yelled out for witnesses to call the police. Her husband stated they continued to verbally argue with the suspect when he returned to his vehicle and left the scene.

As the suspect was leaving Laura recorded the PA registration to the vehicle that the suspect was driving. A record check through the Luzerne County Control Center revealed that the vehicle was a black 2011 Mitsubishi Sedan belonging to a Sean R. Trinkle of 445 Buffalo St., White Haven.

Two witnesses stated they viewed an argument occurring at the pumps and told the suspect to calm down and go home after which the suspect returned to his vehicle, went into the back seat, and re-approached pointing a handgun at Laura. The witnesses stated the suspect was a white male, approximately 50 years old, about 6 feet tall, weighing around 250 pounds with a balding hairline and short trimmed facial hair wearing blue jeans and white sneakers.

Through the investigation the suspect was later identified as Sean

R. Trinkle.

On June 27, 2017, Laura gave a

written statement about what took place and viewed a photo lineup to see if she could identify the suspect. Victim 1 identified the photo of Sean

R. Trinkle as the suspect. Both witnesses were also able to

identify the photo of Sean R. Trinkle as the suspect.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled July 26, 2017 at 10:30 a. m. before Magisterial District Judge Ronald Swank.
